Rounds Inspirational Journeys

On our third day we arrived in the Grand Cayman Islands.  How beautiful! The water was crystal clear and a gorgeous blue-green.  The day was hot, but perfect for the beach.  We all took a cab to a beach and enjoyed a fun beach day together.  The snorkeling was great and the water was as warm as bath water.  I could have stayed there forever!  Post-transplant, sun exposure is a major concern.  I lathered up with 70 SPF sunscreen and wore my UVA shirt most of the day.  I was the only person who didn't get a sunburn while we were on our vacation.  You can see the ships in the distance.  In Grand Cayman the reefs prevent the ships from docking near the shore, so we had to pile on small boats to travel from the Valor to the port.  Scott enjoyed using our waterproof camera.  Hopefully I will be able to share some videos he took soon.  Some of the underwater entertainment! We flew into Miami on Saturday night and stayed at a lovely hotel by the airport, the Sofitel Miami.  Though we waited over an hour for the airport shuttle, once we arrived, we really enjoyed our brief stay. Hannah still likes the airport play areas.  Simon and Lydia flew on an airplane for the first time.  Lydia pretended to feel a little queasy.  Waiting for the shuttle. The view from our room. We were taken to the Port of Miami Sunday morning.  None of us had been on a cruise before, except my dad, so we were all filled with anticipation.  My parents were staying with friends in Miami, so we didn't meet up with them until we were on the ship. The ship boarding process was much easier than I expected and took less than 30 minutes.  Though I have seen cruise ships from a distance, I have never been close to one.  The size was incredible!  This is a picture of the Carnival Glory that set sail just before we did.  The inside...
