Made my day!
Good morning friends! I had a long night. I was able to cough out a lot of gunk when I first went to bed, but I obviously irritated my already painful back. I ended up in hysterical tears before they could get me my pain medication and it threw off the rest of the night. Hopefully I can get some sleep today.
I wanted to share the thing that made my day yesterday, over and above even hugging Scott. Scott brought Hannah's letter to Santa to share with me before he put it in the mail. In her letter, which she composed all on her own, she asked for the typical kid presents, but at the end she wrote:

Also if you can't get all of these things don't worry. I already got a really great gift.
We sure did get a great gift, Hannah, and I can't wait to appreciate it with you for years to come!
My love to you all! Nancy

I know it is important to cough up all that gunk but not at the expense of your pain. I am sorry you had a rough night! I hope you can have a restful day!
Hannah's letter brought tears to my eyes. She sure did get a really great gift, something that she will treasure for years. I just love when we see our children's hearts being so pure. What a great daughter you have and one that I know you are so proud of!
I wish you a very happy Friday! Get some rest and I hope your pain subsides soon!
My love to you always,
Debbie
You are such an inspiration to me. I lost my husband to pancreatic cancer in August. My sister, (Roxann Malloy) and her daughter (Heather Wray)both from Portville, sent me your Book and now your Medical Updates site. This morning I was feeling down and after reading your comments, I realize how much I have to be thankful for. I'm praying for you and all your family. May God bless you always.
Merry Christmas and many many Blessing in the New Year!

I'm sorry about your back pain--do you know what is causing it?
So anxious for the pain to be a thing of the past. Told your Dad i so wish i was on the nursing staff!
Hannah will be an exceptional child, because of who she is, but also as a result of your experience. There are so many positives she has gained from your difficult experiences.
Much love to you all. Wish I could visit!!!

We continue to offer prayers daily for your continued recovery, for freedom from the back pain, for Hannah, Scott, your extended family, for Cammi, for Julie, and for the family of your donor, who made such a selfless gift of her lungs to you!
Bless you, and know that you will remain in our prayers always.
Your Dad's (and your) former Wyoming/now Oregon friends!
