THINGS HAVE IMPROVED AS EVENING APPROACHES!
The nurses just kicked Ann and I out so they could give Nancy a sponge bath and wash her hair! The pain medication regimen has been changed to allow her to push a button that intravenously gives her a dose of pain killer. She looked much better when we went back in at 4 this afternoon and was even able to watch a little TV which helps to take her mind off of all the busyness of the ICU unit. Since her bed in directly centered across from the main desk area she is in full view of all the staff and all the activity which is both good and bad, since people can see when she is in trouble, but means she is right in the hub of all the noise!
Great news...the nurse just came in to the waiting room to tell us they are going to be moving her to the 9th floor to a private room where she will have access to a telephone and we can be with her as long as we need to be!!! Thank goodness we are finally going to have her out of ICU!
Scott and his sister had to leave to return to Olean yesterday, and I am certain that is one of the reasons Nancy was a little down to begin with last night, but Scott will return on Wednesday to see her again. With Hannah at home, we all have her needs to consider, and for her sake she needs her Daddy there as much as possible to keep her life as normal as possible through this lengthy separation from her mother. So many obstacles to overcome logistically to keep all of us going as a family. Ann and I are just grateful that we are here to help make all these challenges a little easier on Nancy's family. And of course we wouldn't want it any other way. Whatever we can do to make the road a little smoother we are trying to do. It's tough all the way around no matter what, so we are all trying our best to keep one another going as best we can.
I must go back to ICU now, but I will be back in touch once we are settled in her new room.
Keep up the prayers and we'll keep up the vigil!
Love,
Nancy's Dad

Take Care..
The Shibuya's
That is wonderful that she is moving to her own private room and out of ICU. Nancy's will, strength, and faith are quite amazing and that is what is helping her get through this step by step. She is AMAZING!
Please, please, give her a squeeze for me and tell her that I love her and am thinking of her!
Stay strong, stay focused and take care of yourselves. We love you too Ann and Vance!

I'm hoping that the coming days are much more comfortable for Nancy as it sounds like it has been a rather tough road lately. I cannot wait for the next update. Thank you so much Vance for keeping the blog going.
Please tell Nancy that I'm thinking about her all the time and wish I could drop in to say hello in person. Tell her I can't wait to get the next update straight from HER!!
Much love,

The move to the private room will be so wonderful, and perhaps she will be able to rest a bit better.
Lots of love to her, and hope she has a restful night tonight.
